Design/ Culture/ Criticism presents articles, interviews, and book, film, exhibition, and object reviews as well as other writings and reflections in design studies. It takes an inclusive view of design, welcoming submissions from across the design disciplines from synthetic biology to urban planning, architecture to graphics, fashion to food. It welcomes practical, historical, and theoretical writing from any coherent methodological orientation.

Our goal is to facilitate fecund discussions of design. Possible topics include anything from any corner of design studies: reviews or comments on books, events, films, objects, or buildings; exercises in design history and criticism; reflections on design practice, process or technique; concepts or keywords in design; contemporary issues in urban planning, sustainability, synthetic biology, or interaction design; you name it. If appropriate, postings may be open to comments from readers for a focused period, though this will not always be the case. Interviews, visual essays and even short videos are welcome.

Design/Culture/Criticism aims to emerge as a compelling common stream for the discussion of design in all its forms. We are seeking submissions from Design Studies Forum members and anyone else who is interested in compelling, cogent, critical reflection on design and design studies. Submissions will ideally be between 1,000 and 1,500 web-friendly words. They should target an educated general reader who is uninformed about the topic at hand. Informed, stylish, and sophisticated polemic is welcome, even encouraged.

Inquiries and submissions should be directed to Stuart Kendall at editor@designstudiesforum.org.
